Why make your bed first thing in the morning?​

Make your bed.

Now we’ve all heard this phrase from our parents, siblings, grandparents.

Our usual reply to this:

– Why do I have to do it? Its not important
– Why do I have to do it, you can do it too
– Why should I do it, when I know no one will see it.
– Why should I do it are right away? I’ll do it later.
– Why should I make the bed everyday when I know I will mess it up again?

And, to be honest, yes these are fair statements.

But why does everyone emphasis on doing this one activity of making your own bed?

Turns out, making your bed in the morning may seem a menial task and garners little attention of ours but it has its hidden benefits.

I have been making my bed first thing in the morning for as long as I can remember, here are the benefits I’ve noticed from making my bed first thing in the morning:

1. Soothing Effect Leading to Better Productivity
Starting with a tidy bed makes me feel calm and ready to work. It helps me focus and get more done during the day.

2. Sense of Accomplishment
Making my bed is a quick win that boosts my confidence. It gives me a sense of success right from the start.

3. Makes Your Room Look Cleaner
A made bed makes the whole room look neater. It creates a tidy and organized space.

4. Improvement in Sleep Quality
This is something that I share out of my personal experience. A made bed is inviting when it’s time to sleep. It helps me relax and sleep better at night.
