In my journey of teaching soft skills, I’ve had the privilege of training over 2,00,000 individuals across 20+ sectors—spanning schools, colleges, multinational companies, and even the Government of India. If I had to pick one sector I enjoy working with the most, it would undoubtedly be Hospitality. Why? Because it aligns with a core part of who I am—a stickler for details. My friends call it OCD; I call it an obsession with the little things that make the biggest difference. Those subtle touches, the ones most people never notice, are the very essence of excellence. Why is a plate angled a certain way on the table? Why is a particular greeting used at check-in? Why does one hotel feel unforgettable while another just feels… fine? I’ve spent over a 20 plus years observing and understanding these nuances, and I’m now ready to take it to the next level. India’s hospitality sector has everything it needs to compete with the world’s finest hotels. The talent, the culture, the potential—it’s all here. But what’s missing, often, is the relentless attention to detail that defines world-class service. Audits—quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly—are a powerful tool to uncover those unseen gaps. They force us to ask the hard questions: What are we missing? What can we improve? I’m bullish on this sector because I see the opportunity to elevate it even further. To set new benchmarks. To make Indian hotels synonymous with quality and attention to detail. And that’s exactly what I plan to do—one detail at a time. Stay tuned for more updates.
