GIBS Marketing Conclave 2026

Being a Panelist at GIBS Mindvalley School The Spectrum – Marketing Conclave 2026.
The Theme was The Relevance Gap: Addressing the Evolutionary World of Marketing.

It was wonderful to meet GIBS Business School, Fellow Panelists Sundar Subramaniam, Swati Dokania of MITTI Cafe and the keynote speaker Prashant Tibrewal of GradCircle.

For those who missed this well organized event by GIBS, here’s me summarizing my contribution as a panelist:

1. Build your Circle of Influence and your Circle of Trust: Influence helps you create impact; trust helps you sustain relationships.
2. Don’t look under the carpet: You will always find dust. Focus on what needs to be addressed rather than constantly looking for what is wrong.
3. Don’t let the human connection get lost in the AI advantage: Technology can make us faster and smarter, but relationships are still built between people.
4. Good decisions are rarely made when emotions are in control: Step back, create perspective, and then decide.
5. Good leaders, by default, listen more: Leadership isn’t always about having the answer. Sometimes, it is about creating enough space for others to be heard.
6. Make everything around you simple: Complexity is easy to create. Clarity and simplicity require thought.
7. People often give business to people they like and connect with: Competence may get you considered, but genuine human connection can make the difference. Be likable.
8. People often identify with the underdog: But don’t let that mindset define your perspective. Step back, look at the complete picture, and understand all sides before drawing conclusions.
9. Trust is one of the biggest reasons people choose to do business with you: People buy from people and organizations they like you believe they can trust.
10. Use AI to enhance what you already do well – not to become completely dependent on it: Let AI augment your judgement, creativity and capability; don’t outsource your thinking to it.

Takeaway for you: Human connection is becoming increasingly rare. It’s time to consciously rebuild and nurture it.
